a beautiful animal indeed! It is rather sad...fur farms. I remember there was a chinchilla farm near where I grew up. Its long since closed, but alot of the buildings still stand.

I've known about it since June =^_^=

These Silver Foxes are true beauties, most beautiful animal in the entire world!
And they are quite tame
In Russia they have even developed a true tame brand just by selecting the least fear full ones.
I will get a true Silver Fox thou, not that special one. Quarantine from Russia is several months O_o

I'm currently living on one. A closed down one that is.
It closed only a few years back. Their now only living on cows. Honestly thou, the only thing sadder about fur farms than meat farms is the fact that it is unnecessary. The foxes actually have a much better life than any of the chickens do... but no one cares about the mindless ones.... we need food and we like foxes better.

Sadly theres not much we can do about either.. Choosing to not buy fur and you at least wont contribute to it, but it wont help.


This fox will get a happy life thou. I have a big enclosure that was made for big birds here on the farm. It has nice trees and nature all around, so it can feel safe and have an Ok area to explore. I use it for my two indoor cats sometimes, they love it =^_^=

Oh man. For all my love of foxes, I couldn't tell that this was one. Something about the angle and darkness, I guess, plus the fact that most of the foxes I've seen are red, brown, or white.

I've done allot of research on the topic, so much so to find the site you provided to be little insightful...and in fact wrong. As the person stated, he/she has no first hand experience. I live on a fox farm
It's not active anymore, but they had foxes till this side of the century, and were one of the first Norwegian fur farms to deal with foxes in the beginning of fur farms


The place where this person is wrong is on house training. They are very much trainable in that field. Some species more than others. It's the red fox who's worst, and it seems this person is only based on that one. I will, if my mom allows, house train it as a pup. But most of the time it will live in the nice big enclosure we have, with a roof fence, as it used to be for birds. This enclose is in the middle of a little forest pearl of nature. Far enough from the roads for peace and quiet, but only a short walk from the farm =^_^=
